Part III Representing Specific Subsystems

چکیده

Many successful modelling studies are conducted without venturing beyond the techniques described in Part II. In other words, the system characteristics considered in these studies are restricted to those that can be represented directly using the parameters of separable queueing networks. There are, of course, situations in which the analyst will wish to represent a specific subsystem in greater detail than is possible within the confines of separable networks. Techniques for doing so are the subject of Part III.

Anatomylab: a Computer Graphics Program for Representing the Human Anatomy

AnatomyLab is an e-learning computer application. It helps students to study and become familiar with human anatomy by interacting with anatomical 3-Dimensional models, which represent subsystems in the human body. A new multilingual wikipedia lookup technique displays online information related to body parts or body sections in the language of the user choices. By adding custom contents, lectu...

A new distributed real-time control system for the JASON underwater robot

The design, implementation, and deployment of a new computer system for closed loop control of the JASON underwater robot at full ocean depth is described. Several design principles for the rapid development of large scale robot control systems are articulated and illustrated with examples from the JASON system. (i) The use of subsystems with differing computer architectures permit effective ma...

A model of domain-polymorph component for heterogeneous system design

Heterogeneous systems mix different technical domains such as signal processing, analog and digital electronics, software, telecommunication protocols, etc. Heterogeneous systems are composed of subsystems that are designed using different models of computation (MoC). These MoCs are the laws that govern the interactions of the components of a subsystem. The design of heterogeneous systems inclu...

Representing Mathematical Problems by means of Protégé OWL

With the objective of improving Mathematical supervisory capacity of Computer Aided Systems, we are developing a system which makes use of an ontology for the representation of knowledge in Mathematics, with the purpose of making use of the same by means of specific applications (for example carrying out geometric demonstrations). The distributed architecture of our system is composed of a seri...

مقایسه روش‌های طبقه‌بندی‌کننده حداکثر مشابهت و حداقل فاصله از میانگین در تهیه نقشه پوشش اراضی (مطالعه موردی: استان اصفهان)

Land cover maps derived from satellite images play a key role in regional and national land cover assessments. In order to compare maximum likelihood and minimum distance to mean classifiers, LISS-III images from IRS-P6 satellite were acquired in August 2008 from the western part of Isfahan. First, the LISS-III image was georeferenced. The Root Mean Square error of less than one pixel was the r...
